Dependable live fish deliveries

Another solid order from Consolidated Fish Farms. Picked up another wholesale fish lot, mostly angelfish and some tetras. The quality and health of the fish were consistent with my previous orders. They always arrive well-packed and lively, which is why I keep coming back for my store's stock. It's just a reliable source for me.

Smooth process, decent quality

Ordered some fancy goldfish and a few assorted fish packs for my store. The ordering process on their site was straightforward once my wholesale account was approved. Shipping took 4 days to reach me in California, which is pretty standard for live fish. Everything was packaged securely with the oxygen bags and heat packs working as expected. One goldfish seemed a bit stressed upon arrival, but recovered quickly after acclimation. The rest of the fish, including the plecos and rasboras, looked healthy and vibrant. Support responded within a few hours when I had a question about the live arrival guarantee before placing my order. Overall, a good experience and the quality met my expectations for a wholesale distributor.

Good value on first order

I was setting up a new section in my store and needed a lot of stock. Found Consolidated Fish Farms and their dealer pricing was pretty competitive. Got a good mix of livebearers and corydoras. The freight credit on the larger order definitely helped with the overall cost. Felt like I got a good amount of healthy fish for what I paid, which was important for my budget.

trying to figure out if it's worth getting a first order discount. is that something they actually do for new accounts?

E Eric Hill 6 days ago
They totally do. I got 10% off my first big order of cichlids when I opened my store last year.

M Megan Thomas 5 days ago
Yeah, when you set up your wholesale account, it usually applies automatically to your first purchase above a certain amount. It's a nice little boost.

Are there ever any public promo codes for these guys? Or is it all just account-based discounts?

G Grace T. 2 weeks ago
Nah, pretty much all account-based. They're wholesale, so public codes aren't really their thing. It's more about volume tiers.

Never seen a public code. All the discounts I've gotten were automatic because of my wholesale pricing tier.

how does the stock list work? like, if I see something available today, is it actually in stock, or does it take a day or two to update?

A Alex D. 2 weeks ago
From my experience, it's pretty accurate. They update it regularly, sometimes daily. If it says it's there, it usually is.

P Patricia 2 weeks ago
They update it frequently, I think multiple times a week. It's usually a good indicator of what's actually available.

Thinking of buying some rare plecos from them. Are their fish generally healthier than, say, what I'd get from Sun Pet?

J Justin Thomas 2 weeks ago
I've always found their fish to be super robust. Less DOA than some other distributors I've used, especially with sensitive species. Segrest is good too, but CFF has been solid for me.

Yeah, I'd say quality is a definite plus for them. My customers always comment on how active the fish are when they arrive from CFF. Better than 5D Tropical, for sure.

Hey, thinking about ordering some fancy goldfish for my shop. Do they actually do the freight credit on big orders or is that just for massive ones?

E Elizabeth 2 weeks ago
Yeah, they definitely do. I got one on my last order, like 4 boxes of tetras and some plants. Wasn't even huge, but it helped.

From what I remember, it kicks in after a certain dollar amount or number of boxes. Not just for pallet orders, thankfully. Worth checking their rep though.

Do these guys ship live fish to Hawaii? Or is it mainland only like most places?

S Sam Garcia 3 weeks ago
I think they ship to all 50 states, but you'd have to double-check on any specific restrictions for Hawaii, especially with live animals. Customs can be tricky.

They do, but expect higher shipping costs obviously. And maybe some extra paperwork for the state.

What's the minimum order to even get started with them? Just opening a small shop and don't need a ton right away.

L Linda Nguyen 1 month ago
I think it's around 200 bucks for the first order, but that might have changed. Definitely not thousands, though.

R Rachel Lopez 1 month ago
It's a pretty reasonable minimum, enough to get a good variety without breaking the bank for a new store. Check their website, it should be listed there for new accounts.

Anyone know how quick their live arrival guarantee is if something goes wrong? Like, do I have to submit it within an hour or what?

J Justin W. 1 week ago
I've only had to use it once, but they were pretty good. You usually have a window, like same day arrival or something. Don't think it's super strict like an hour.

M Megan D. 1 week ago
Pretty sure it's 24 hours from delivery. Just take pics immediately if there's an issue.
